One of your students could win a trip to Ottawa and a $1000 RESP!

It's time again for the Kayak Kids' Illustrated History Challenge. Students can either write a story or a comic about an exciting moment in Canadian history. One English and one French winner will receive a $1000 RESP and a trip to Rideau Hall in Ottawa this fall.

Stories should be 500 to 1200 words long and contain at least 3 original illustrations. Comics should be at least 5 pages and have around 500 words. We have created a graphic comic template and an illustrated story template to help your students get started.

Zoé Banville and Charlotte McNeely at Rideau Hall with Governor-General Michäelle Jean.

To get some ideas going, check out the top winners and finalists from last year in our online issue here. The top 25 stories and comics will also be published in a special volume.

The deadline for entries is October 8th, 2010 so get your students writing now. Projects can be emailed to contest@kayakmag.ca, submitted online through Kayakmag.ca, or mailed to:
